A: Please temporarily REopen my closed ID questions, just to let me answer? Most of them have been pinpointed. Let's not. Your questions were closed because the community determined that such questions are off topic on Outdoors Codidact. (You even participated in that discussion yourself, so like much feedback that you received before it, you can hardly be unaware of it.) I don't see how anything about ... (more) |

Why would you assume that the photographer parked anywhere near the location from which any particular photo was taken? (more) |

It's an indoors plant, bought in a store, and placed indoors. Apparently, you bought it, and don't know what it is, so now you want us to tell you what you bought. How is this in any way related to outdoors activities? (more) |

I noted the bodies of water in the background as well; they look quite distinct, so given a candidate location, they might provide a reasonable starting point for where the photos was taken, including a plausibility check on the distance. Also look at the shadows in the foreground; there seem to be a... (more) |

A: What is our position on picture identification with no research? I'll borrow one of the points from the existing answer, for voting purposes. > 1. Decide they are off-topic and close the ones we have. However, I'm also willing to carve out an exception for pictures that the poster has a clear personal connection to and provides meaningful context for and rel... (more) |

This ***VERY*** much depends on the dog. While it is true that some... (more) |

A: Help! I found a lost dog - what do I do next? As a bit of a sidenote, which won't help you but hopefully can prevent someone's dog from ending up in this situation; this is why I prefer to keep a properly fitted collar with a name tag with current contact information on the dog at all times. No responsible pet owner wants for their pet to run of... (more) |

A: Stop bumping old imported posts with no-change edits > In one case, one of the answers was apparently deleted. I disagree that this would as a rule be undesirable. Cleaning up imported content seems perfectly valid to me; I don't see how anybody is served by keeping bad content around, for any definition of "bad content". Now, one can certainly a... (more) |

A: Akita as my hunting buddy I would definitely say that the Akita has the capacity to be a hunting dog. For clarity, there are two main variants of the Akita; in the US, they are lumped together as just the Akita, but in countries where the kennel club is connected to the FCI, they are considered separate breeds. This is the... (more) |

How to select a good GPS receiver? What should one look for in the specifications to determine whether a handheld purpose-built GPS receiver provides good navigational consistency under reasonably normal, low-speed conditions? Highly preferably both in open areas as well as potentially dense woodland. I am looking primarily for somet... (more) |
