A: Why would a skunk be chasing a human? The skunk is clearly not angry or afraid. The woman has something the skunk wants and expects to get. Could be food, could be attention. I have a rabbit in my house that follows me just like that when it suits her. Watch the video and pretend it is a cat or dog following her. What do you s... (more) |

@Monica Cellio It is a warm wet, no evaporation so it stays warm. It works for me, it may not work for others. Also for me, because I tend to get dry skin on my hands in the winter, it creates a moist lubricated feel. I think when the moisture gets to a certain point, the sweating stops. So it's ... (more) |

A: How to keep gloves from getting sweaty? Putting on a snug fitting pair of latex or nitrate gloves on first and then putting the winter gloves on is a good solution. You often see nurses or mechanics wearing these types of gloves to keep their hands free of blood or oil. The are not effective for keeping your hands warm, but they are effect... (more) |

Towing with a Recumbent Trike, Tadpole or Delta? I have some experience towing with an upright bike I am considering getting a recumbent trike, as my back side does not last as long as my legs. With an upright bike I automatically move my weight forward, back or center to manage traction. On a trike that would not seem to be an option (have not rid... (more) |

A: How long does canned chicken repackaged into a ziplock last? Actually you might want to keep the chicken in the can, and you probably do not want to cook fresh chicken at home and bring it with you. The USDA recommends that cooked chicken at room temperature be eaten with in 2 hours, 1 hour if it is over 90 degrees Fahrenheit (32C). You could potential... (more) |

Question | — |
How stay fit enough to make moderately hard rides a couple times a month? When I have time I like to get my bike and canoe out and do a day trip. Doing a mile or two is not hard but a good day trip is between 8 and 14 miles. When I started at the beginning of the year 6 miles was all I could do before leg muscle fatigue (and butt soreness) did me in. Now at the end of th... (more) |

Why would 'Road racing' be off topic? I don't have any of those, so it does not matter and we are unlikely to get any questions about it in the near future. Just wondering about your reasoning. (more) |

Question | — |
What are the safety concerns of a high vs a low mount trailer hitch? When you Google for images of "canoe & bike," you find two basic solutions to towing a canoe with a bike: 1. A traditional axle mounted trailer is modified to have a tongue long enough to load/support the canoe/kayak on the trailer. 2. A seat post or carrier mounted pole connects to the front... (more) |
