bicycles in scope?

−0

I was thinking this morning I might manually migrate over my posts at https://bicycles.stackexchange.com to https://outdoors.codidact.com/

I can't see a reason to exclude any bicycle related questions here, and so migrating these over seems like a reasonable next step.

Any thoughts for or against this choice?

I think it depends on whether they are related to "Outdoors". Mountain biking, biking to go camping, biking trails through parks, etc. - yes. Road racing - no.

Why would 'Road racing' be off topic? I don't have any of those, so it does not matter and we are unlikely to get any questions about it in the near future. Just wondering about your reasoning.

@manassehkatz - why would road racing be off topic? It is most definitely an outdoor activity (leaving aside indoor trainers at the moment). Maybe the race mechanics, sure, but I don't see why questions about road bikes and road biking in general wouldn't be on-topic. I don't think the mechanics of an XC race would be on-topic here, either.

Seeing now another Meta question about swimming pools with cbrumbaugh saying that's on topic, logically road racing would be on-topic too. My thought but I am not one of the key people here, just an interested bystander was that road racing isn't "outdoorsy" enough. But it looks like my definition isn't really the right one. Which is fine.
