How long does canned chicken repackaged into a ziplock last?

Rather than take a can of chicken while backpacking, it's possible to open the can, drain the juice and stick the meat into a ziplock which makes it much lighter and a ziplock is much more compact than a squashed can. It does need to be eaten fairly quickly into the trip to avoid spoiling.

How long is the chicken still good before it spoils?

I've seen ready-to-eat chicken in foil pouches, as opposed to cans, at the grocery store. I've never eaten one so I don't know if they're any good, but they're shelf-stable and sized for individual portions.

With other types of meat there are dried options designed to keep a very long time at room temperature - dried salami, beef jerky, etc. I don't know if such options exist for chicken.
