Question I shoot horribly at archery tournaments - what can I do about it?
Commonly I shoot about a 13 to 14 average and 12 is my absolute lower limit. However, at tournaments I struggle even to get a 10 average (shot 192 out of 19 targets :'( ). I think the problem is that I set myself under pressure too much. I have the feeling that the people in my group constantly jud...

Question When to wear a chest protector?
I personally don't know any traditional archer wearing a chest protector. I noticed however that Olympic archers (and similar disciplines) nearly always wear one. Which circumstances should make me think about wearing such?

Question What to look for in a quality shooting glove?
A shooting glove seems to be quite important for archery. I'm a bit lost when it comes to characteristics of a good shooting glove. What makes a 40 $ glove superior to a 15 $ one? What should one look for?

Question Is there a M1A1 carbine replica production?
I've always wanted to have an M1A1 carbine. However, I don't want an "original" one because I think that this would be too valuable in my hands. I don't want to take one away from a real collector. That's why I need to know if there are still any replicas in production?

Question Am I able to "open up" a snake bite and suck the venom out of it?
Someone told me that you should treat a snake bite (in the wilderness) by cutting a X in the skin (with a knife) and sucking the stuff out of it. This sounds a little weird to me. Is this really a technique to go with in an emergency situation?

Question What should I do to avoid ticks other than wear particular clothing?
Today I've learnt that one can't vaccinate against Borreliose, also known as Lyme Disease. I've thought that I can't get that (yeah, that was stupid) and so didn't really care about ticks. However, since one really has to care about them, what should one do to avoid a bite in the first place? Edit:...

Answer A: Are fixed or mechanical blades better for moose hunting?
It doesn't really matter. The recovery rate of mechanical broadheads is a little bit higher but negligible since the rates are overall extremely good (82 % fixed vs 91 % mechanical). So, if you are used to mechanical broadheads and can afford them, I would recommend to go with them. If you aren't use...

Answer A: How can I tell if a opossum is truly dead?
How to tell if an opossum is truly dead? The only safe thing you can do is wait. Commonly after an hour, the ears of the Opossum start to move slightly. This is your indicator to know that it's an actor :) After four hours of stiff ears, you can be pretty sure that you are looking down on a dead a...

Answer A: Are there any possible telltale signs along a water's edge that it would be a good spot for gold panning?
According to Chris Ralph from mindlab, you should go for these signs: Color Changes: In many districts, acidic mineral solutions have bleached the area rocks to a lighter color. This can be an indicator of gold. Iron Staining & Gossans: Not all veins produce much quartz – gold ...

Answer A: How do the skills required for mounted archery (archery from horseback) differ from those required for other forms of archery?
I'll focus on the directly archery related things. I think it's quite obvious that the horse is heavily moving and thus you've to learn to absorb this movement in your hips. The main difference is, that you need to be fast. You don't have time to sit in your anchor and focus. You've to look, draw, a...

Answer A: Is it possible to differentiate between a dog print and wolf print?
No, there's no chance to distinguish the print of a large dog from one of a wolf. However, you can still differentiate between them, if you have a whole track. Dogs walk remarkable different than their ancestors. Compared to a wolf, a dog draws a sinuous line like it was drunk. The best way to d...
