Answer A: Why are we moving in circles with a tandem kayak?
If your kayak has a skeg, make sure it is down (in the water). This will help you to steer straighter by reducing the turning effect of paddling more on one side. As mentioned, you will have to adjust your padding technique to distribute the force evenly on both sides.

Answer A: How do people camp on ice?
You don't use ordinary tent pegs, you use something a lot more substantial. For example, pictured below are two ice screws (cheap ones I found a picture of on Ali Express), which would work if the ice is hard enough. Answer A: To locals without a tide chart, how surprising are tides?
Tides are generally not surprising - they do not change much in amplitude from one day to the next, and the peaks happen slightly less than an hour later each day. The amplitude of the tides mostly follows the phase of the moon. The highest tides happen on the full moon and the new moon, with slack ...

Answer A: What's a good, lightweight solution for portable cookware?
I'm not sure what "graniteware" is, but it doesn't sound lightweight! What you want is: light compact durable Something from the REI Cooksets page would probably be appropriate. There are a variety of styles and sizes there. For one person on a 4-day hike you won't need much.
