A: How much more difficult is the Haute Route than the Annapurna trek? Well, having done both I can safely say that the haute route was harder for me. Are trekking poles proven to be helpful? I covered quite a lot of ground, but approaching 36 my knees are starting to give me troubles. Should I expect trekking poles to restore my previous stamina and walking durability? Or are they just fancy status symbols? :) (more) |

How much more difficult is the Haute Route than the Annapurna trek? We've completed the Annapurna trek from Bhulbhule to Muktinath in 11 days without special difficulties or knee aches. How much harder would the Haute Route be? Would you consider doing the Tour du Mont Blanc instead as a less difficult option? (more) |
