<p>There are a lot of ways to die in the great outdoors.  Prevailing answers at <a href="https://outdoors.stackexchange.com/questions/3083">What are some mortal dangers in temperate woods?</a> suggest that Hypothermia is near the top of the list. </p>

<p>I have been really cold a few times. It seems to me that getting warm again was more painful then the getting cold.  Hypothermia has nothing on the ordeal of <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Aron_Ralston" rel="nofollow noreferrer">Aron Ralston,</a> and wandering around in the dark or a blizzard seems like a good way to find a very painful end.  </p>

<p>So if I am hunkered down, waiting for the Sun to come out, what should I expect to feel if I won't be seeing the Sun again? </p>
