This is a good question. Outdoors was one of the first communities we set up here during a time of turmoil on SE, and like with Writing, we bulk-imported content to help the communities to migrate...

- This is a good question. Outdoors was one of the first communities we set up here during a time of turmoil on SE, and like with Writing, we bulk-imported content to help the communities to migrate without losing the content they'd invested in. But it turned out that most people didn't come here. Communities don't migrate; they fragment. It's now years later and we have a bunch of old content that has never been touched *here*.
- We had a [discussion about this problem on Writing](https://writing.codidact.com/posts/278810) and ended up deleting a lot of the imported content in 2021. We tried to strike a balance, keeping posts that people *here* had invested in while dropping the pure copies; [my answer there](https://writing.codidact.com/posts/278810/279019#answer-279019) describes the criteria we used. Speaking as an individual and not for the Codidact team, I suggest that we consider pruning the imported content here too.
- Arguments for doing it include what you raised in the question, the effect on search-engine placement, and the "first impression" of a site full of old content. The main argument I can think of against doing it is that it didn't obviously work for Writing -- the community there is still small and pretty inactive, like here. But people (like you!) are here, and if we want to build up this community, we shouldn't let the outcome on Writing block us.

- Meanwhile, if you want to stop seeing these posts, you can use a filter. In the "source" menu, choose "native" instead of the default of "all". You can name the filter and make it your default for the category.
