How to fix a slightly deformed snap hook?
This snap hook on my backpack got slightly deformed due to excessive weight. How to fix it?
The blue arrow points to the deformity; the red arrow points to the consequence of the deformity, namely a slight opening on the hook.

Option 1: Repair the hook
Bend the hook back into shape, either using two pairs of small-nosed pliers or using one set of pliers to grip it while pushing it against a hard surface.
This is a very cheap option, and very likely to fail again later unless you avoid heavy loads.
On the picture it looks like there's a small groove near the blue arrow, which is likely to be wear from the D-ring. This will have weakened it, and the act of bending it back will weaken it further (by a small amount).
Option 2: Replace the hook
A search for "snap hook" on ebay turns up numerous hooks. Some look like the one that failed, others are more carabiner-like. Try to get one stronger than the one you're replacing, unless you really want to make it look like the original.
To replace like with like you'll need to do some sewing (choose a heavy-duty thread); if you choose a small carabiner you can just push it through the loop on the strap after cutting off the old hook.
option 3: Tie the strap to the D-ring
Another cheap option, and obviously depends how long the strap is.
