Amazon River, October 2009. Somewhere between Colombia, Brazil, and Peru.
To the left, the jungle; to the right, the river.

Suddenly, the wet season started.

Amazon River, October 2009

That morning we had been playing football in that specific field. It was a beautiful game with people from all countries. When the ball went off the field nobody wanted to go and pick it: there were sleepy crocodiles that may have been awoken!

Note also how veeeery long sticks help up the houses. They signal the level of the river by the end of the wet season.

This photo was taken on the evening of October 10th, 2018 in Atlanta. It was remarkably clear and everything visible was reflecting the streaks of falling water. a rainy city street
