Are there ice-skates that will strap to a full shank mountaineering boot?

I was hiking through the snow to a frozen alpine lake and it made me wonder if there were ice-skates that would strap directly to a mountaineering boot instead of being a completely separate boot?

Seem like that would be lighter and is how ice-skates used to be made, are there any modern versions?

There are indeed long distance skates with straps that you should be able to use regardless of what boots you have. Maybe something like these would work in your case:
